| Name: | Cless Alvein |
|---|
Cless is a young man from the village of Toltus, and the son of Miguel (A well renowned swordsman) and his wife. For Cless' birthday, his father gives him a pendant. As the game begins Miguel wants to talk with his son about the trinket at dinner that night, as Cless is going off to hunt in the woods with his best friend, Chester. The two boys leave, go to the forest, and when they return home, find that their village has been destroyed and all of its inhabitants have been slaughtered by a man named Malice. Cless loses both of his parents and Chester loses his sister. Cless is instructed by his dying father to go to the town of Euclid and seek out his uncle, while Chester stays behind to mourn the villagers.
Cless travels to Euclid and is taken in by his relative, but during the night his uncle sells him out to Malice and Cless is taken prisoner, after Malice steals his pendant. While in jail, our blonde hero meets up with a girl called Mint Adnade, who is a gifted healer. The two escape, and try to find what Malice is planning. Cless gets hurt while escaping, and a man named Morrison saves both Cless and Mint, reuniting them with Chester. After being saved, Morrison explains that he knew Cless’ parents and Mint’s mother, and he helped them to seal away a terrible evil, using the pendants. When he learns that Cless’ pendant has been stolen, he runs off to find Malice, instructing the children not to follow him. They do it anyway
Cless, Chester, and Mint arrive to find Malice using the pendants to revive Dhaos, the great evil that had been sealed. They can do nothing to stop the mad man, and Dhaos is resurrected. Morrison knows that Dhaos is not beatable, so he ends up transporting Mint and Cless (descendants of the great heroes that sealed Dhaos) one hundred years in the past, while Chester stays behind to deal with Dhaos. In the past, Cless and Mint learn they need magic to stop Dhaos, so they venture out to get help from Klarth F. Lester, who is researching how non-elves can use magic (considering only elves are really allowed to use magic). After meeting Klarth, and later a girl named Arche Klain (Who is half elf so she can use magic), the four roam the world finding spirits to make pacts with, so that they can sue their power to defeat Dhaos, who is alive and well in the past, causing all sorts of chaos (Including a war).
After receiving help from the spirits, the party not only assists in the Valhalla War, but they also travel to Dhaos’ castle and attempting to stop him. They fight hard, but Dhaos escapes, leaving Cless, mint, Klarth, and Arche to travel back to the present. They arrive to stop Dhaos from killing Chester and Morrison and eventually end up “killing” Dhaos. Thinking they have won, the party escapes, and tries focusing on getting Klarth and Arche back to their time.
The kicker? Dhaos isn’t dead. Someone from the future arrives, telling our party that Dhaos is still alive in the future and once again causing massive amounts of havoc. So, they travel fifty years into the future. Once there, Cless and his friends learn of the Eternal Sword, which may be the key to stopping Dhaos. After finally getting their hands on the sword, Cless and co make their way to Dhaos’ castle (Which can apparently only be seen if you have the Eternal Sword…. Dhaos, you sneaky jerk). After getting to Dhaos, Cless and his friends learn Dhaos’ whole story, which is rather sad. He is from Derris-Kharlan, a world that is dying. As an angel from that world, Dhaos just wanted mana to sustain Yggdrasil (The Great Kharlan Tree) that is dying. He also wanted humans to stop using magitek technology, as it drains mana from the world and slowly kills it. But~, Cless and his gang end up killing Dhaos anyways. After this, Cless and his friends venture to their tree to see the Goddess, Martel. After his defeat, Cless and the gang return to the tree and Goddess Martel tells them that now that Dhaos is dead, Derris Kharlan will surely die. But there’s really nothing Cless and his friends can do, so they leave. Klarth and Arche return to their time, while Cless, Mint, and Chester return home. Martel then decides to create a new Mana Seed, which she sends to Derris Kharlan along with Dhaos’ body. So that the mana seed can form safely, Mint creates a barrier around Yggdrasil befores she leaves with Cless.
Cless is a smart and kind boy with a fierce sense of justice. After the death of his parents, he vows to get revenge on Dhaos for his loved ones. He fights hard, and tries to keep a smile, but sometimes falls into depression over his parent’s deaths. He gets especially angry after seeing innocent people get hurt, and won’t stop until he has gotten some sort of revenge. He’s rather hot headed at times, and rushes into fights with his sword drawn and ready. Because of this, he sometimes makes mistakes and gets hurt. He also hates it when Dhaos calls humans savage creatures, as he soon comes to believe fighting to protect something is not savage. A very promising swordsman, Cless is the main fighter on his team, while the rest are more magic users. Because he is brave and kind, he is quite popular with the girls, even if he doesn’t exactly realize it. It appears he has a special place in his heart for Mint.
